Things To See
Waikiki Beach, meaning “spouting waters,” is a five-acre beach with a three-acre lagoon on the coast of Oahu. On specific days throughout the week, there is a Waikiki Starlight Luau where you can enjoy traditional performances like fire dances under the light of the moon. On Friday nights, find the perfect spot to view a fireworks display. You can kick back and enjoy the views as well as find a shell or two along the shore for a relaxing day at the beach.
Things To Do
For those that want to experience some good waves for beginners, Waikiki Beaches calmer waters make it an ideal spot. You can take surfing lessons and learn to balance and ride the waves. The lagoon offers a little more for activities as it is an enclosed area with calm waters. You can find a kayak or stand up paddleboard to float on the rippling waters. The lagoon area is also better for the little ones as it is safer for swimmers. If you are not keen on water activities but love the beach atmosphere, you could always take a stroll down the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon Boardwalk or the Fort DeRussy Boardwalk.
