The holidays are a special time in Hawaii, where the aloha spirit is warm and bright. In October, Halloween activities abound on Oahu, including haunted houses, trick-or-treating, and costume contests, as well as dance parties for the older ghouls and witches looking to do the Monster Mash. Chinatown’s Hallowbaloo on Oct. 27 is an awesome experience, as is the annual Hawaii Island Humane Society Halloween Pet Walk in Queen Liliuokalani Park, Oct 27 and 28. The fun continues in November with a whole bunch of events at the Neil S. Blaisdell Center, included the opening of Wicked on Nov 22, and the 26th Islandwide Christmas Crafts and Food Expo from Nov 23 to 25. In December, runners take the ultimate challenge with the Honolulu Marathon on Dec 9. The band Journey will be at Blaisdell Arena for two nights on Dec 12 and 14. Spend your Christmas holiday at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic or the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl at Aloha Stadium.
